Mauser custom rifle
« on: December 28, 2014, 11:13:26 AM »
I am a newbie to your forum thank you for the add!!! The reason I joined, I am looking for information regarding a custom Mauser rifle I own. It is a highly polished glossy blued finish, rich custom hardwood stock and all polished action. excellent condition and has STURGEON stamped on barrel. My local gunsmith tells me it is from the 70's and is a Jim Sturgeon built custom. It is in the .35 Whelan caliber. I am trying to asses a value or trying to find some history behind it but having touble locating anything on the builder. This rifle is in pristine condition and according to my gunsmith does not look to have ever been shot. Any help or ideas on where to start would be greatly appreciated. I can take some pictures to submit if needed.

Thanks!
Stew

Since it is apparently a custom built rifle there will be no "retail" value on it.  Its value will be just what someone is willing to pay.                                                                                                                                                                                             Sarge
