Cartridges
« on: March 04, 2015, 02:34:17 AM »
With my C96, I got 50 cartridges marked: "7,63 FNM 1-75". I read somewhere, that theese are Portugeese, (Fabrica Nacional de Muniçoes, de Moscavide (Lisboa)). and pretty powerful. Would it be vise to reload hem?

They were indeed made in Portugal.

Produce quite a muzzle blast, but should function OK. After all, they were specifically loaded for the C96. I have several complete packages, even with a C96 image on the box.

Well, I fired one of them, it had a tremendous blast, I have preferred not to use them, for the reason too, that they have Berdan primers. In stead I have used a load of 4 grs of VihtaVuori N310, behind a Lee 93 grs bullet (lead/tin, sized to .311), enough to reload, and give a velosity of 370 m/s.I have tried to use a slower powder (4,8 grs N340), it reloads, but the cases are blackened on the outside, (you get gases slipping past the case).
