c96 m30 bolt drag
« on: September 07, 2016, 03:37:41 PM »
I have been restoring an old broom which had obviously not received tender loving care.  I've replaced several parts, the bolt stop (of course), locking bolt and firing pin and springs.  The bore was devoid of rifling, so I had it relined.  It runs well on Fiocchi factory ammo, but not with reloads using a .309 bullet.  But that's another story.  Anyway, the action hangs.  It works well enough when fired, but when the bolt is closed on an empty chamber, it needs a little push to go all the way in.  The action also seems unduly difficult to open.  When the slide/barrel assembly is removed, there is no bolt drag.  Any ideas?
