General Discussion / Paul Mauser symposium now Online!
« on: October 14, 2018, 10:31:32 AM »

In April, 2018 a full day symposium on Paul Mauser was organized by the BVVW (Belgium Society of Arms Collectors) and the Curtius Museum in Liege, Belgium.

The symposium explored many of the recent discoveries from the Paul Mauser personal archives curated by Mauro Baudino and Gerben van Vlimmeren, and the materials discussed in the book Paul Mauser his Life, Company and Handgun Development. A documentary "The Legacy of Paul Mauser" has also been produced.

I joined Mauro and Gerben as the editor of this book and also spoke at the symposium as well as video recording the presentations.

General Discussion / A quick hello
« on: August 27, 2018, 06:51:08 PM »
Hi,
I've just joined this forum, and want to introduce myself.
I'm a Mauser handgun collector with one or two Mauser action rifles too.
It was recently my pleasure to work with Mauro Baudino and Gerben van Vlimmeren as editor of the Paul Mauser book based on his archives:

It's an interesting read, and complements the work done previously by Jon Speed and other Mauser historians.

In April, 2018, a day long symposium was held in Liege Belgium at the Belgium Weapons Museum discussing some of the new discoveries and other background found in the Paul Mauser personal archives.

Hosted by the Belgian Weapons Collector Association, videos of the event will become available soon online. They share interesting history and perspectives of Mauser - all based on archival documents.
