Title: 1914 Police Issued
Post by: pardt on January 15, 2019, 08:02:53 PM

it has been pretty dead in here lately so I thought I would liven it up. I acquired this pistol last Spring.
It has canceled police markings which I believe are type 1 markings to Schneidemuhl district which was then  subsequently transferred to the district of Gumbinnen with type 2 markings.

if anyone has a different idea please feel free to share it.

sorry for the double post, my internet was acting funny

Nice old police pistol! I like them a lot, as you get some provenance with the markings.

Fixed the double post for you.

I have a friend who has about 70 pocket models. The majority of them are Weimar police marked examples. The marking variations in the police pistols alone is fascinating area of collecting. Yours like most show that they were carried and saw use which only proves authenticity in my book.

I never thought I would focus on police marked 1914s but they certainly are starting to accumulate in my safe.
