Model HSC Pistol / Re: Mauser WWII Slide SN

Judging from the pitting, it was cleaned and blued over.
Since the slide number is only lightly electropenciled at the front below the muzzle opening, it is easy to remove it while cleaning and rebluing.

Model HSC Pistol / Mauser WWII Slide SN

Hi Forum,

I purchased this WWII HSC slide off gunbroker. There wasn’t a lot of information on it. I was hoping to see a SN on the nose of it, but it didn’t have one. Is it possible it was never assembled on a gun to receive a SN or did someone remove it? The only other marking I see is on the inside of the slide on the rear end.

Been so long, since your post, I forgot it again, and was fortunate to find your original post. Needed some range time, and the HSC is certainty an accurate pistol.
I have 3 HSCs, 2 from Interarm, and a WWII police pistol, when the quality was great ( early 704,Xxx. All beauties.

Model 1914 Pistol / Re: Help with a 1914 Pistol

Hi, nice gun.

The Prussian Eagle was a late war order to mark and identify non-P08 guns as government property.

The small acceptance mark in front of the rear sight indeed identifies it a military property.

Perhaps your magazine is at fault. Try putting some pressure on the magazine bottom and see if the firing pin moves.

I had quite a few pistols with similar issues, cured by either swapping or replacing mags.

Model 1914 Pistol / Help with a 1914 Pistol

I have what appears to me to be a war time 1914 pistol in .32acp.  I don't know much about Mauser Pistols but I am growing to really like them.  I just purchased a WTP 1 to go with my WTP 2.  My 1914 has Crown over a U on top of the slide as well as another mark that I'm not sure of.  It has has a Prussian Eagle on the trigger guard.  Serial Number is 175431.  It  appears to be in very good shape and the numbers match with the exception of the disonnector.  My problem is that it doesn't strike the primer when I cock it and pull the trigger.  I put new springs in it and it's still not working properly.  I've cleaned it inside and out and oiled it so I'm not sure where to look next.

Thanks for reading and any help you can provide!

Your serial number is way too high for a Low Grip Screw variation.

The Eagle/N is the standard commercial proof of those days.

Production year 1942.

C96 / C12 Broomhandle / C96 Magazine Floor Plate
« Last post by Djlmedic on March 10, 2024, 08:06:11 PM »
Good evening everyone,
I have a C96 Mauser that needs a magazine floor plate. I ordered one but it is not the correct one. The one of the left of the picture is the old one that is wider at the point that it locks into the magazine well. Can anyone advise why mine is not like others that I’ve seen?

Thanks for the lead. I've also recently found another gunsmith shop both capable and willing to take the job. It was formerly owned & operated by the late Bob Dunlap of the American Gunsmith Institute videos. Pisco, AKA, Pacific International Service Company. I'm not quite ready yet, but when I am, I'll likely use them, $200-250 (+tax & shipping), with a 2-3 month turnaround.

Thanks, Karl, 68coupe

Howdy 68coupe,

not sure if you are still in search of someone to rebarrel/reline your C96, but Lugerman has a range of options available.
I have not used his services personally, but the quality of his work demonstrated by his .45 & 10mm Luger reproductions are imo second to none!

Best of luck!
