Title: Detachable mag C96s?
Post by: 69daytona on November 15, 2018, 03:18:13 PM
was sorting an uncles gun collection to get them ready for sale due to Alzheimer's and found a few detachable mag C96s.
I have a m30 in my collection but have never seen a C96s with a detachable mag.
Anyone know what I'm looking at and what I should look at on these guns?

There are a few possibilities, a Chinese version that was made up from Schnellfeuer parts, a M714 which is an uncommon variation of a M1930 model with a detachable magazine or a full-auto Schnellfeuer. If it is full-auto it will have a button and switch on the left side to set semi or full auto function. These have to be REGISTERED TO BE LEGAL. One other possibility is a Federal Ordinance re-manufactured import that was modified to use a detachable magazine. These are the most likely possibilities. I have included a link below which may help. Regards,

Thanks 1914mauser.
All 3 of these have the button to release mags and what looks like welding where the switch use to be.
No import marks, these have been in his collection since the late 40s early 50s. Has a few snail mags and 20 round mags for them.
Will try and get pics next time I'm over there.
