Title: Bolo Holster
Post by: Duster42 on September 19, 2016, 01:40:05 PM
I have a post-war Mauser Bolo in the 595,000 range.
It has the German export mark.
What type of holster is proper for this pistol?

Thanks

Are you asking what type of holster /stock or are you asking about a leather holster? Both type are applicable as either could of been used.

Burgess,

Thanks for your response.
With this pistol being export marked I didn't know if both would be proper for this.
What should I be looking for in a original holster/stock. Are they numbered to the firearm?
Same thing for the leather holster. Were they maker marked?

Thanks,
Chuck

A post war Bolo stock looks the same as for a standard grip with a 5.5" barrel but the internal milling is different, for the smaller grip and the shorter barrel, A standard C96 will not fit in one. It may or may not have a serial number on the iron and the Mauser logo pressed into the side.

There are a variety of leather holsters. The most common being the Asian type with a flap and side pouches. These are also the one you will see the most reproductions of.
