An interesting new book has been published in German.
By a former Oberndorf resident who now resides in Australia.

The fact that the author is not a gun enthusiast and a former Oberndorf resident means she takes a look at Mauser from a different angle.

Also not a lot of detailed info on the early Mauser years has been published in German, so in that sense alone it is a welcomed addition.

Although many of the subjects have been touched in earlier publications, she did a great job in bringing the main connections and international networks together.

There are some omissions, to be expected, but the general overview is correct.
If you can read German and are interested in the corporate politics and international connections between 1870 and 1914, this is a good place to start.

The author is Heidi Zogbaum

Diesen Schuss der ganzen Welt
-Der Aufstieg der Waffenfabrik mauser und die kaiserliche Weltpolitik bis 1914.

Hardcover - 237 pages with color illustrations.

Model HSC Pistol / Alan D. Burnham (Warbird)
« on: May 21, 2021, 08:45:01 PM »
With sadness I have to report that fellow forum member and Mauser HSc guru Alan Burnham passed away.

He was known under the forum name 'Warbird'.

I was fortunate to be able to print and publish his wonderful HSc book in Europe (written with his co-author Peter Theodore).Trying to get in touch to discuss a new printing run and found out he had passed away late 2020.

Mauser Lugers / Renato Gamba Mauser P.08
« on: June 17, 2020, 07:09:54 PM »
An example of the 150 to 200 contract P.08 pistols made by Mauser for their Italian reseller Renato Gamba in 1974.

The initial order was for 1,000 pistols in .30 luger with a 4" P08 barrel. Financial problems interfered and only a small part of the contract was fulfilled. Other pistols were dismantled for parts, while another group was reworked to Interarms specs and sold in the US.

Serial number range was RG0001 to RG1001.

Serial number is a tad low for the 1934 grips, the manual is dated May, 1936 (updated after typo).

Hi,

Got a message from one of our lugerforum members:

I cannot get that to work to let me post there. EDITED, = always error code. I cannot even send warbird a message to sort since it requires same steps to send message. Is he on this forum? Maybe I can message him here.
