Title: 1910 question
Post by: saxon on February 18, 2015, 10:59:27 AM
Taking the grips off several 1910's I own noticed several numbers on the back strap which seem to have nothing to do with the serial numbers..Are they inspector numbers put there during manufacture? Or what?
Thank you...

They are frame numbers, the term coined by John LaCroix. Originally they matched the serial number but at some point got out of sequence possibly during WWI.
