its a post war Bolo. it has been refinished and the grips replaced. You can verify the chambering with a 9mm snap cap by seeing if the bolt closes on it. Regards,

The market has gone crazy lately. Your friends C96 could be worth a considerable sum. Pictures to determine condition and originality are a must to access value. Regards,

Rick, You have a nice example of a Mauser .32 caliber pocket model, a.k.a. 1934 Mauser. If you are in the US? high retail value is in the $550-650 range. This is an auction estimate, the actual hammer price, if auctioned, could be more or less. I am sure they are worth far more to you in sentimental value. Regards,

You will not hurt it and if well done could increase value. When it is refinished make sure it is a hot salt blue and the parts that should be left in the white or fire blued are not blued. I agree it is of Chinese origin. I do not believe grips on the M30 were serial numbered. Regards,

Yes, There are markings molded inside, Plastic Mauser grips both early and late, for both calibers. I do not have any pictures though I have seen many examples and all originals have markings. Regards,

Model 1910 Pistol / Re: 1910/1914 Help

Hello Fuzzy, and welcome to the forum. The 1910/14 was made in 1924. It is a common variation. I would agree that the engraving is very amateur. The magazine catch is bent and most of the original finish is gone. Because its condition is only fair, it is possible that is why was used by an amateur engraver as something to practice on. This has caused it to have even less value. Factory manuals, boxes and holsters can be valuable items and any of them could be more valuable than the pistol. A collectable example should look like this:

Would you be interested in a Mauser marked 10 round magazine?

Henry, I did not know that Mauser made Schnellfeuers in 9mm. Thank you for posting this. I recently acquired a Schnellfeuer stock that came with a "Storch?" harness, ram rod and a 10 round magazine. I bought it mainly to acquire the holster. I would love to learn more about Schnellfeuers. As I recall you have more than one. Could I encourage you to share your knowledge of them? Regards, Burgess

Sad news and a great loss to HSC collectors and enthusiast. Condolences to family and friends. He will be sorely missed.

Yes, the springs should work though may require some fitting. The marks you describe are import marks placed on it when imported into the U.S.. Regards,

smitter1, After reading your post I would also strongly recommend replacing springs if you intend on firing it. Osmosis description of  casting the bore is the best way to determine what caliber your C96 is chambered for. Regards,

Mauser P38 Pistol / Re: 1961 P.38 Almost New In Box
« on: March 26, 2021, 07:27:28 PM »
I would suggest posting on the P38 forum as it is a Walther, not a Mauser. You may want to provide the caliber as these were available in 9mm, .30 luger & .22 and that will effect valuation. You could also try GunValuesBoard as forums that are geared for discussion sometimes will avoid providing values.

Some examples for this serial number range were in 9mm Mauser or 9mm export. Which are a bit longer than 9x19mm.

It is fairly early. A very early small ring hammer. The front sight has been modified. It appears to have been re-finished. Regards,
