Title: Post war HSc
Post by: vlim on March 06, 2017, 05:30:23 PM
This arrived last week.
1970 Mauser HSc with box and paperwork.

The grips were almost glued on with old gun grease. Looks like it wasn't used for a long time.

Geert, nice pistol.

Can you tell me the proof year / code on the slide? Should be 1970 proofed.

Vlim, at the same place like yours I see a German stamp and 70*** to small to read. i can't find my magnifying glass since I moved to my new appartment, even I can't find the papers that came with the gun, just like yours. Women like to put all in boxen!!! >:(  (http://nl.bab.la/woordenboek/engels-nederlands/magnifying-glass)

Yes, that is the eagle/n proof mark followed by the 1970 year code and the Ulm proof house antler.

Thanks

Congratulations! It's a beauty. I've got the same model! But in my case, after firing, some times the ejected cartridge hits my face with brutal force. Does the same happens in with your beauty, too?

Welcome to the forum, Greg!  The geometry of the HSc ejection system makes what you say almost impossible.  The Ejection Port and Extractor forces a spent casing to the right all the time.  So, unless you are not holding the pistol correctly or someone has opened the Ejection Port or changed the Extractor, you will not "some times" be hit in the face with a spent casing.

I look forward to hearing from you after you have inspected your HSc.  Hopefully, it is also a .32 caliber like the one shown above and not a .380.

Nice find. While I like the 380 round, it seems to put more stress in the pistol frame. Also the change to a two piece backstrap, instead of the old one piece backstrap, causes instability and damage. While it seem like an isolated issue to most, I’ve had to replace one on my American Eagle.

Yes, the .380 will eventually beat the gun to death. I observed deformations around the barrel retainer area at the front of the trigger guard.

.32 functions just fine.

It's here. Like new, test fired by Mr. Huß ca. 1977.

That baby looks sweet.  I like the right side slide free from clutter.  Congratulations on the purchase.
