A wartime HSc that has been given a new number somewhere down the line. Hard to tell who applied it and why.

With the left grip removed, just press the triggerbar back in place, make sure it is seated well.

Keep some pressure on it, from the side, while installing the grip panel again.

It is quite normal for that bar to come loose, as it is held under pressure both front and rear.

Normal field strip after shooting only requires removal of the slide from the frame.

Proper method:
Check the pistol is empty.
Close the slide.
Cock the hammer.
Put safety on safe.
Press the release button and take off the slide.
Remove barrel and spring from the slide.

No further disassembly is required.

Yes, that's normal.

Interarms imported a lot less .32's, so good catch.

Made in 1972. The first 2 digits 01 show it is a .380.

Value depends on the state of the gun and the presence of the original box, test target, magazines, manual, etc..

A search on sites like Gunbroker should produce an average sales value.

Model HSC Pistol / Re: HSc in nickel plate
« on: February 11, 2023, 08:00:31 AM »
Production year would be 1970.
Interarms offered the nickle plated version on the US market. These guns were FBM proofed (internal Mauser proof) and not commercially proofed for the German market, so they unfortunately have no proof dates.

Get a .32 acp barrel. These guns can easily be.swapped from
.32 to .380 and vice versa.

Hi,

Made postwar, 1970, by Mauser for Interarms.
The majority of Interarms contract HSc's were in .380. Having a .32 version is a bonus.

Besides, converting to .380 is only a quick barrel swap, so ot can shoot both calibers. Takes about a minute to exchange barrels.

An interesting new book has been published in German.
By a former Oberndorf resident who now resides in Australia.

The fact that the author is not a gun enthusiast and a former Oberndorf resident means she takes a look at Mauser from a different angle.

Also not a lot of detailed info on the early Mauser years has been published in German, so in that sense alone it is a welcomed addition.

Although many of the subjects have been touched in earlier publications, she did a great job in bringing the main connections and international networks together.

There are some omissions, to be expected, but the general overview is correct.
If you can read German and are interested in the corporate politics and international connections between 1870 and 1914, this is a good place to start.

The author is Heidi Zogbaum

Yes.

I owned and shot a wartime commercial with a replacement NS lockwork.

The NS is just as dangerous as the old one.
