Info on my 1914/1934
Prepper:
How safe is it to carry my 1914 with one in the pipe, striker cocked, and safety on in a pocket holster that covers the trigger and safety? Is it better to carry with just the rounds in the mag and nothing up top?
Thanks. Alan
1914mauser:
Your question calls for knowledge and opinion. If it were me I would carry without one in the barrel. This will prevent wear to the springs and be the safest way to carry IMHO. If you keep it with a round in the chamber and on safe, the striker spring will be compressed as well as the safety springs. These pistols are over 80 years old and the springs may have some fatigue all ready. There are many newer, affordable pistols with safeties better suited to carry with one in the chamber.
