RE: Correct Mauser Holster
« on: June 13, 2013, 01:28:50 AM »
I have a Jan./1942 Mauser HSC with the Eagel/L (Police)- Marking - in the trigger guard -S/N 752333. What would be the "politically correct" holster for this Police Model ? I have additional wartime  HSC Mausers that have the usual Military "wartime" holsters with the year date, waffenampt stamps and manufactures code also. I recently aquired a "HSC Wartime Holster" which has no markings whatsoever. It is wartime and probably "Commerical". Would this one also be politically correct for usage then with this Eagle/L pistol ?   Can anyone advise ?  I will attempt to attach the (3) three photos of my recent find. Thanks... I hope you can help !...  Alan

Hello Alan:  Here are the German wartime Army (Heer), Navy (Kriegsmarine), Airforce (Luftwaffe), and Police (Polizei) pattern HSc Holsters.  Each service contracted with a different Holster manufacturer.  The closure strap on the Army Holster can be either up or down.  By the way, there is no "p" in Waffenamt (Waffen = Weapons, Amt = Department).  Hope that helps you out.

Hello Warbird... It helps greatly. Thank you so much for that info. ! I was never aware before that each division had their own holster and were each made by different holster manufactures. Glad to now have that information.   Alan

I have a 1942 year stamped, police Eagle B Stamped holster, manufacture stamped Schambach & Co, Berlin in brown color acquired thru Rock Island Auction Company.  It was high because of its condition. but that would be a super correct fit for your 1942 HSc Police L.

Post Note:  The former owner of this very nice holster died last week.  He was a great friend to all HSc collectors.  He will be missed by many of us on this forum.

I got a photo of a holster like yours, the seller said it was for a PP, i think they where much alike...?
