Hello mitchgoo and welcome!  I'll be glad to help you with your "new" HSc if you can upload pictures or at least a better description including the full serial number.  That's used to get year of manufacture and also if I have any history from previous owners.

By the way, it's not stainless steel, it's nickel plated probably from the factory.  If the Trigger and Manual Safety are blued, that would point to it being original factory.  Did it come in original case and do the serial numbers match?

As I said, be glad to help but need pictures and/or more information.

You posted the wrong pictures, mitchgoo.  This is definitely NOT a Mauser HSc .380 caliber pistol.

OK ... best I can do is 1971-1972.  If there is a Proof Mark on the right side of the Frame in front of the Trigger with a letter code we can pin it down further but I could not make it out from your photo.  Nothing in the database on this serial number so it hasn't come up before.

You still need to confirm the last serial number match on the Barrel when you field strip it for cleaning.  The .380 does have a tendency to break parts so I would not shoot it too much and be sure to inspect the internals closely before heading to the range.

Anything else (including the Proof Mark) let me know.
