Meaning of "A" marking near the magazine release?

Does anyone know what the "A" marking stamped near the magazine release on my HSc might represent?

It is my understanding that the letter, on the bottom of the frame near the magazine release, indicates the letter designation of the milling machine that the frame was created on. Regards,
