Bent Red 9 firing pin
« on: January 26, 2022, 01:55:06 PM »
Hi, all. I striped my red 9 down the other day for a cleaning and noticed that the tip of the firing pin is bent a little. Obviously it's hard to say without looking at it in person, but how concerned should I be? It doesn't seemed damaged in any other way, just slightly bent. Is this common? Also how hard is it to replace a firing pin in a red 9?

It sounds like you've had it a part so replacing should be easy. Finding a replacement firing pin is where the difficulty may be. I do see them for sale on GunBroker from time to time. Another possible source is vintage gun parts dealers. If it moves freely through the bolt face I would not be greatly concerned. Regards,

Hmm alright thanks for the suggestion. I guess ill just keep my eye out for one online. Yeah I took it to the range to test fire it, and it didn't have a single problem. I didn't plan on shooting this pistol much anyway, but I just want it to function properly.
