Hi All,
I inherited what I deem to be a Mauser 1914 from my father. He inherited the piece from his cousin, who acquired it in Germany. Circumstances are unknown. I doubt my father ever fired the weapon, I am currently planning to take it out to the range on occasion.
Given that it is stamped with Germany and no other special stamps, this was an export version and probably nothing notable about the piece.
While five rounds of ammunition were with the pistol, they are marked: REM UMG - 32 S&W, which from what I've found to be inappropriate for the pistol as it is chambered for .32 ACP.
I'm verifying my research and documenting what I've found so when I pass it on to my son, he has accurate info. There are a number of YouTube videos about disassembly, so cleaning shouldn't be a problem.
Anything I'm missing or have incorrect?
Thanks in advance,
Bill
