Resleeving/relining C96 barrel
« on: January 08, 2024, 09:26:17 AM »
Does anyone know of a reputable place to do a re-sleeve job on my nearly shot out 7.63X25 C96? Approximate price tag?

VR, thanks in advance, Karl, 68coupe

I have had two c96 barrels relined by redmondsrifling.com and was satisfied.  He usually has a long backlog and may not be taking in new work.  Cost was around $350

Thank you. I found his website & he's not taking new work right now. Big notice in bold red font saying exactly that. I also did a little more research and found that I probably don't want anyone else for the job. I guess I'll wait.

Howdy 68coupe,

not sure if you are still in search of someone to rebarrel/reline your C96, but Lugerman has a range of options available.
I have not used his services personally, but the quality of his work demonstrated by his .45 & 10mm Luger reproductions are imo second to none!

Best of luck!

Thanks for the lead. I've also recently found another gunsmith shop both capable and willing to take the job. It was formerly owned & operated by the late Bob Dunlap of the American Gunsmith Institute videos. Pisco, AKA, Pacific International Service Company. I'm not quite ready yet, but when I am, I'll likely use them, $200-250 (+tax & shipping), with a 2-3 month turnaround.

Thanks, Karl, 68coupe

I just received up my Mauser from PISCO. The only thing I can say is WOW!!! The work is impressive. In addition to relining the barrel, they performed several other needed services on the gun, including; fitting the new firing pin, polishing the bolt and fitting the new safety. I am extremely pleased and awed by the work performed and highly recommend  PISCO for any gunsmithing services you may need.
