New to me a Mauser HSc

(1/3) > >>

donp326:
This is a  HSc i purchased from Scotty Benedict at Pre98.com.  It's a second variation blued with E/655 and E/N stamps and E/N on the right side of the slide the seems to be a little fuzzy. it's the same Eagle/N that is on the trigger guard.  I noticed this when I looking at it under higher magnification.

The HSC also has the Mauser Banner on the base of the bottom plate of the magazine.  The serial number is 734970.  The last three digits of the serial no. are electro penciled on the inside of the front of the slide and and in front of the chamber on the barrel, all matching.  The sight channel is checkered also.

One of my favorite variations with that ATP!  Congratulations.

Warbird:
By definition, only the 1st Variation has an ATP (Army Test Proof) and it is located next to the Hammer on the left side of the Frame.  I believe what you think is an ATP on the Slide is a typical Eagle/N Proof Mark - there are three, one each on the Frame, Slide, and Barrel.  Also, the last ATP marked HSc was serial number 715323 so your new acquisition is well beyond that number.

jcorl:
I believe Warbird is correct again, as the expert.  I don't see the ATP marking on the tang in your photo.  Bummer!

donp326:
I thought the ATP was at the barrel end of the slide, my error. But the e/N there looks very much like an over stamp army test proof errantly applied to the end of the right side of the barrel end.
