There is a half-moon shaped notch in the front of the magazine floorplate. Can't get the grips off until I can get the correct screwdriver. The cut/notch in the screws, are much smaller than U.S. made screws.

How do you tell the difference between the real McCoy ejo grips, and the current European repos?

I have been told the plastic is softer on the repros but I am not aware of a way to tell/test the difference. With originals being at least 70 years older  would think signs of wear would be a good clue of original grips.

I have scratches in my grips plus the owner, I presume, took a key, knife, file or something similar and etched 13 notches in the left grip.   The scratches and notches have worn their edges smooth by handling.  In affect, my grips show their age.

I will try and post some photos for you.

Murton,

Your remark about "panties" could be viewed by some in the forum as non-caring.  I have learned that some serial number ranges in the police "F" were given a fast or very short bluing dip resulting in a light or straw like finish.  Others in a different serial number range were much darker and for sure a true deep military blue factory finish.  Details are important to piece together the history of these examples.  Please appreciate our interest or at least my interest in the search for knowledge of these Mausers.

I don't like folks, "leaning" on me. In retrospect, I should have noted. That it's in the range that Jan Still used for the Eagle F HSC's, in his research. And left it there.

Just taken my photos.  I will try and post them shortly for you.  Hope you can see some wear marks in them, both on the outside and inside.

More photos for you.

Other than the abrasion and "notches"? on yours. I can't identify the difference(s), you mentioned in the previous post?

I regret that you are not able to locate the wear marks in the photos.

Best wishes,
