Post-War French Acquisition

Hi, my main focus is wartime guns, but I got a chance to acquire this at what I believe is a very reasonable price, and I bought it.  I researched it in the [very good] Mauser HSc Pistol Book Mauser (Burnham / Theodore), and I think it's legitimate and perhaps rare due to condition.  I'm looking for some feedback.  Thanks,

This May 1945 Post-War HSc certainly is in excellent condition but I would not use the word "rare" to describe it.  My own 952412 is in the same condition.  I would place a value of $600 on it.  Congratulations!

warbird, thanks, I only used the term rare based on the [Burnham / Theodore] book comment that post-war French HScs are usually in poor condition.  Perhaps I read too much into it.  In any case, I paid considerably less than $600, so am happy with the acquisition.  I also acquired a blued version with wood grips, that I will post at some point.  Thank you

What a nice example.  Congratulations.  Your grip screws appear to be even phosphate.  Good job!

Jim, thanks, yes, the screws are phosphate and don't look like they have had a screw driver in them since the gun was manufactured.  I'm really happy to have it.

Roger,

Very nice acquisition.  I actually saw this one before you snagged it.  I was itching to drop the hammer but held back in anticipation of funding needed for a KM marked 1934 (which I didn't end up with).  She is a beauty and will round out the "French Connection" of an HSc collection well.  Congrats!!  Perhaps a "bird" in hand is indeed worth a KM in the bush!  Happy Holidays my friends....hopefully HScs for all in the New Year!
