You may think this a strange answer to your question. I am a collector of the HSc. I purchased an example or two for my son to shoot in the "shooter grade catagory" and I have fired his HSc only once. That means I am not qualified to respond. I am sure some shooters on the forum will jump in. Hope your hand is recovering. That looked like it hurt.

No it's not normal. The problem has to go back to the extended cams on the Sear. If you could take the Slide off and post a good picture of the Sear I might be able to help.

The Firing Pin looks like it's installed upside down. Other than that, everything else looks OK.
