8mm Mauser
Like_Old_Guns:
I need to study it more to make a guess on the original rifle, but I can tell you the value is minimal. It was a military rifle that someone converted to a sporter, by cutting down the stock and sanding / refinishing it. Hope this is not a surprise, but it has no collector value.
mccallkurt:
just more interested in the history on it and where it might have come from not to worried about the value it Shiites good and holds a tight group at 100 yards it will just be another deer rifle its just different from my other mauser
Sarge:
It began life as a Spanish copy of the German K98k in 7.92 (8mm). It is called the M43 and was adopted by the Spanish in 1943.
Somewhere along the line it was sporterized.

mccallkurt:
I have another one I will post pics of its a 30-06
Webley:
Sarge correctly identified the Model 1943 Spanish 8mm Mauser. I have several "as issued" M43s that are fine PA deer and bear rifles.
