Masuer Hsc
« on: February 23, 2017, 02:57:09 PM »
I have a Mauser Hsc in 9mm Kutz.38 or 380 Think. I has 4921 of 5000 on the slide and on the front of the slide is the insignia for the US Army. I would like any information possible and an approximate value.

Thanks Mark

Hello Mark and welcome!  It's obvious you aren't familiar with firearms so please be careful in handling it.  There is a BIG difference between a .38 Special and .380 ACP cartridge.  You have a .380 in 9mm Kurz not Kutz.

OK ... your HSc was produced in 1977 as part of the final 5,000 piece run of this model and tribute to the U.S. Bicentennial.  It was called the American Eagle Edition and  has The Great Seal of the United States of America etched on the Slide (not the Army insignia).  Current value is between $450 and $500 depending on condition and if it is in the original box with Manual, Test Target, and Bore Brush.  Lacking in condition or the box will reduce its value.  Also, there is a large number of these on the market right now which could have another negative effect on the value.  Hope that all helps.
