1917 Erfurt questions

I am new to the forum and have little experience with these rifles other than building sporter's, please forgive me as they were class projects and were from toast rifles.
I have a 1917 Erfurt small ring Mauser with matching numbers except the bolt, it has a 24" barrel and no Nazi proof marks that I can find and the sling looks original. I have had it for some time and wondering the basic history and approximate value. Some photos attached. The overall condition is a nice patina with some blue showing and it has a clean bore.

It has a look of Model 1898AZ carbine, but I am no expert.
