I just bought my first Mauser pistol, a Model 1914 in 7.65. In the process of disassembling it, I noticed that the trigger bar spring seemed to be installed 'upside down' from what I could see in the schematic I looked at and the video I watched. On my gun, the longer of the two legs of the spring was below the shorter leg. This seemed to be the reverse of what I could tell from the schematic and video. I experimented and found that the spring could be installed either way - with the long leg above the short leg or with the short leg above the long leg. I could not detect any difference in the functioning of the gun either way. My question is, which way is the spring supposed to go, or does it matter? TIA,
Scott
