And don't dump the HSc for the HK4. That plastic piece in the HK4 sounds cheesy at best.

Want to buy my HSc? ;)

jcorl:
Where is your connector?

Jim

Warbird:
Jim, if you mean Disconnector, it's an integral part of the Trigger Bar on the New Model HSc.

jcorl:
Disconnector.  You are correct.  Thanks for the correction.

Jim

Newbergian:
jcorl: I'm not sure what a disconnector is but from Warbirds comments I guess I don't have one on the 1970 version...?

RE: New Catch: Got one from Numrich yesterday. It is identical to the one presently in my gun: Has the square studs on either side(see photo in earlier post) that I don't see on photos of WWII versions. These studs butt up against the frame and serve to stop the forward motion of the catch. This is a completely different approach from the WW2 version. On the WW2 version the forward motion is stopped by the heel of the catch in contact with the bottom of the butt frame.

I could grind off the studs and let the heel do the stopping. This would allow the catch to pivot forward further and drive the mag into the gun further and thus engage the mag safety further. BUT that is not the way the gun was designed and I would prefer to understand why this particular gun is not quite 'right'.  Perhaps it has a subtle manufacturing out of tolerance condition in the frame...

I'll figure it out ....
