1938 Turkish Mauser
« on: April 22, 2017, 05:22:35 AM »

This is my new 1938 Turkish Mauser I picked up at a local pawn shop last week and while I've done a lot of research on it, I still have some unanswered questions. I believe what I have here is a firearm that predates the in-country manufacturing of these rifles. I know those marked with K.kale were made in turkey, but this one does not have K.kale markings. Through what I can find it seems this rifle is made of mostly Gew. 98 parts. Please tell me if I am misinformed or let me know what you think.

I have a couple questions many of y'all could most likely answer. First is related to the third picture, I am looking for what I believe is called a set screw, which goes in front of my forward magazine screw. I have looked online but can't find any for sale, any clues? Second questions is regarding this text on the end of the barrel I would just like to know its origins if possible. Thank any and all for the responses.
