Mauser-Werke New Owner
« on: April 28, 2017, 10:07:29 PM »
Hello All,

I recently purchase a HSc .32, with original paperwork, I'd like to find out when it was made. The serial number is 00 12214.

Thanks
Cory

Hi Cory,

Welcome to the forum. Your HSC was made in the late 1960s to early 1970s. Warbird should be able to help narrow that down, I think. I have one just like yours.

Hello Cory and welcome to the forum.  Congratulations on your new acquisition,  This nickel plated HSc was produced in 1974.  Anything else, let me know.

Thank you Warbird
1974 manufactured date on the HSc, wonderful. This is my first Mauser. I'm enjoying learning the history of the company and this gun.
Do you know if the .380 barrel can be found? The manual states .32 AND .380, so I'd use it for both calibers.

Thx
Cory

You can find .380 Barrels on eBay and GunBroker.  There are currently two listed on eBay (page 3 of the HSc listing) for $60.  Wartime and New Model (1970's) Barrels are NOT interchangeable.  Here are the websites:
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_sop=1&_sacat=0&_dmd=2&_nkw=mauser+hsc&rt=nc
http://www.gunbroker.com/All/BI.aspx?Keywords=HSc

Now a word of caution.  The Mauser HSc in .32 ACP is one of the finest Pocket Pistols ever produced and, since it was designed for the .32, shooting .380 from it has a tendency to break parts.  I would not recommend this conversion even though it is quite possible to do and many thousands were produced in that caliber.  Hope this helps.
