Early 1945 HSc question
« on: July 06, 2017, 07:19:01 PM »
Hello all.  I have recently acquired a Mauser HSc pistol that I believe was made in early 1945 after looking at other posts about serial numbers.  It in pretty good shape with a very clean barrel and interior.  I will post some pictures.  The serial #is 941362.  It has the WaA135 stamp on the left side of the trigger guard and the standard three locations for the eagle/N.  A little piece missing off the right grip and all looks original with the serial number on the barrel (last three numbers) and etched on the slide near the muzzle.  What date do think this was manufactured.  The finish seems blued to me and not a coating.

Hello okla7x57 and welcome to the forum:  Your Wartime Army HSc was produced in December 1944.  Any other questions, let me know.

Thanks for the reply. I will get some nice wood aftermarket grips and go shoot it. Will conceal carry once in a while.

I can't understand why anyone would think to carry a collectable other than for cool factor. That would disappear quickly if you had to use it and the police decided they needed to scratch some numbers into it to mark it as evidence. Then the collectable value would take a serious hit. Just a thought.

I suppose the fact it's the most common version and late war made me think it's low on the collector list. I take your point since is a WWII German weapon, the get scarcer as time goes along. I can use my 1972 PPK/S in 380 for the CC cool factor.
