C96 hammer won't drop

I took this to the range for only the third time and a few rounds shot just fine. Then after pulling the trigger, the hammer stopped falling. I came home and the trigger spring was broken. I replaced it with a 'new' one I had on hand. Still no change. The gun goes back together fine but still after pulling the trigger, the hammer doesn't drop. Is there something I am missing about the safety or what? This just started happening today.

Sounds like a broken internal part. Time to visit a old school gunsmith if you can find one.

I have the same problem with one I just bought. If I hold down the safety it fires or at least the hammer drops. Not sure that helps but curious is you fixed yours
