Model 1934 Pistol / Re: Mauser 1910/34 slide doesn't lock
« on: August 20, 2024, 01:53:42 PM »
You could try removing the grip and then the magazine catch which puts tension on the hold open. After the spring is removed you may be able to pull the slide all the way back. If not, there may be something internal that is broken and preventing the slide from traveling all the way back. Please realize it is very difficult to trouble shoot mechanical problems via a forum. Regards,

Site Technical Help or Site Feedback / The forum' s future
« on: August 14, 2024, 12:18:47 PM »
Tim, with Alan's passing and Gerben's legal problems, along with generally slower site traffic, I am wondering about the future of the forum. I will continue to contribute on the threads I can. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help with. Regards, Burgess

The moderator and HSC expert, Alan Burnham (Warbird) has passed. There is a thread at the top of this section that should help you find out what you are asking. HSc Production Chart (mauserguns.com) Regards,

Model 1910 Pistol / Re: Mauser 1910/34 year of manufacture
« on: August 12, 2024, 07:19:51 AM »
Your 1910/34 was made in 1934. The star marking is a factory inspector or machinist stamp used in the manufacturing process. The meaning of these small internal markings has been lost to time. Regards,

You know that posting on different forums doesn't get you more results. The same people are looking at the different forums. From what I can see in your pictures it appears correct. That said, these are a favorite for fakers to create. A in hand examination provides much more certainty. Regards,

General Discussion / Traffic here sure has dropped off

I have noticed this on many firearms related sites. I don't know if I am being paranoid, but I do wonder if AI is being used to limit search results for firearms related sites. Maybe there is just less interest in forums as younger users tend to do their research on YouTube. Regards,

General Mauser Pistol Questions / Re: Help with pistol case
« on: May 20, 2024, 10:55:36 AM »
All I can tell you is that it was made for a Mauser C96 & stock and that it was not made by or at the Mauser factory. It appears to be modern made though I do not know who made it. Regards,

We would need to more about your C96. I suspect that you may have a non-Mauser C96. Regards,

It could be an Imperial unit marking. You might want to post on Still's Luger forum. Regards.

That would depend on where your are unless you are willing to ship your pistol to someone. I do not know a smith I could recommend. I would be willing to take a look at it for you without any guaranties. I am in north central Florida. Regards,

It is very difficult to trouble shoot these kinds of problems via forum. If the slide is not moving rearward enough to remove the barrel something internal must be blocking it. It sounds like your best move would be to find a qualified gunsmith to take a look at it. Regards,
