Title: Time to sell my Red 9
Post by: Albert45 on August 02, 2016, 08:25:10 PM
Hello Everyone,

I joined the group with the hope of getting some information on a Red 9 Mauser that I am wanting to sell.  My grandmother gave it to me about fifteen years ago as a gift. My grandfather had picked it off of a German in WWII.  I'm not a collector and don't know much about antique guns or condition issues, but it looks to be in fairly good condition and I remember a few stories of family members shooting the gun, so I believe that it functions properly, but I have never shot it myself.  It has a leather holster and no stock.  Please take a look at the photos. I would love to hear any facts about the gun, comments on the condition, approximate value, and also, your opinions on the best place to sell it.  Let me know if you need to see any other views.

Thanks.

I would suggest GunBroker.com as a place to sell. An on line auction will achieve the best price. Your Red-9 is not typical but appears to be in very good condition. I would list it with a $2000 starting price in a 2 week auction. If no bids are received after 2 weeks lower the price $100 each time it is re listed till you receive a bid and then let the auction run its course.

Regards,
