This is a variation I really like. I have a opportunity to purchase one for $350. It has bluing loss but doesn't appear to have pitting. Aftermarket grips. I already have two but with it being somewhat uncommon I am very tempted to purchase it anyway. So any opinions on whether I should save my money or purchase?

Two birds in the hand? I would be very tempted to have another. The Prussian Eagle is a rare bird. I have a 1914 with one, a Red-9 with one and a 1920 rework with one. One more is always welcome.

With another higher priority pistol coming along I will have to wait and see if it remains unsold long enough for me to get the funds

I can relate. I hope it works out for you.

That is pretty cool. I have not seen that marking on a 1914 before this. Thanks for posting.

They don't come up to often, however there is one currently on gb ending in a day or so

There sure is. Thanks!

Well that particular example didn't go cheap. Ending bid of
$681

I saw that. More than double what I just paid for my Police 1914. Crazy

Pretty much to get a decent deal on one those it has to be advertised as a plain 1914. That's how I got both of mine. Almost bought a third but a couple of other pistols had depleted my gun fund

I would agree. I would value a Imperial 1914 with the TGE in the $500-700 range if in very good to excellent condition. It is important to know that war time finishes are usually not of the same quality as earlier or later production. So an Imperial 1914's finish should not be compared the same way as other examples. Both of pardt's examples have very nice finishes from what I can see. He was also fortunate to have noticed the Eagle and knew what it was when the seller and other buyers did not.

One sold on gb yesterday notadvernot ad as anything but a 1914 . Thought for a minute I might get it but someone wanted it more. Well I wanted to go higher but I really should save my money for a variation I don't have
