Title: feeding issue
Post by: Jorge131 on November 23, 2019, 12:23:30 PM
Good Day!I just obtained a Mauser 1914.  It is in nice shape.  I cleaned it and replaced the recoil and striker springs with new Wolff springs.  When I fired it today, the third round in the mag would consistently stovepipe feeding the round.  Would this be a magazine issue? It is an accurate little pistol! Are aftermarket magazines ok to use?Is there a way to loosen the magazine catch up a little? Thanks.

Feeding issues are usually magazine related. I have not found aftermarket magazines to preform well. I would recommend finding a good original magazine.

Thanks for the input.
An original mag might be an expensive proposition, though.

It can be, however if not in a rush keep a eye on GunBroker and eBay and sooner or later you will catch a good deal

Hello. I shoot my 1914s a lot and I've  had better luck with Fiocchi round nose ammo than any other. I've  also never had an aftermarket magazine the worked consistently. Bite the bullet and buy an original mag off gunbroker or Ebay. Good luck and enjoy that fine little pistol.
