Title: HSc mauser
Post by: hoff1989 on January 29, 2021, 08:09:16 PM
Ihave a HSc mauser that I was told it belonged to Hermann Goering the serial number is 772673
Is there a way to prove this.
The holster to the gun has the initials JHG and under that it has the number 44 does this mean anything

It is extremely unlikely that it belonged to Goering. It is not uncommon to have this kind of story made up about a souvenir bring back. If you don't have some documentation to proof the claim it is most likely that none exist. So what you have is a Mauser HSC. Please pardon the messenger.

My father was going to sell the gun to a gun collector 40 years ago and he supposedly if authenticated it and offered my father $5000 for the gun which my father turned down at the time so there might be some credence to this and what about the initials on the case.
Is there a way to trace the serial number.

Jhg is the coded name of the holster maker.
Nothing to do with Göring's initials.

There is no way to trace back the number. So without a decent paper trail it will be impossible to attribute it to him.

I would like you to post photos, if you can.   Always enjoy looking at the beautiful HSc.
