Title: Info request on C96
Post by: zhoolka on May 31, 2018, 10:29:57 PM
Dear all:I just bought a C96 that I think is a post-war bolo (commercial) rebarrelled from 7.63 Mauser into 9mm Parabellum. I reserached the serial number and it is period matching. But what I can not find ANY information on is the barrel that has a "9mm Parabellum" inscription on the left side in runic looking letters. Has anyone here ever heard of something like that? Please let me know if you have any info! Thanks!Tim

Tim,

It sounds like your Bolo was re-lined by Federal Ordinance. They marked barrels "9mm Parabellum" when they changed the caliber from 7.63 Mauser to 9 mm. It was also re-finished in the process.

I am looking for info on Federal Ordnance. What do you think might be the value of the gun redone in this way?

Value is in the shooter category, $500-1000 depending on condition and functionality. The Bolo is a common variation. Federal Ordinance is no longer in business.
