Model 1910 Pistol / mauser 1910

I have had several 1910's over the years and am somewhat familiar with them.I just purchased one and was taking it apart for cleaning when I found the last three serial numbers stamped on the side plate,which is normal, but also on the disconnector  trigger bar and the ejector and hold open device.It's the only one I've seen.
What's up?

I am a new collector of this  interesting gun and have a question. I own 227161 with no banner or calibre designation.Pender  has one 107xxx but mine is several thousand away.Is this unusual?

What is the purpose of the disconnector on my 1910 and is it safe to fire without it? Thank you..

Going through my new issue of American Rifleman they mention a book I thought everyone would be interested in: Ott- Helmuth von Lossnitzer, Technical director of the Mauser Company, 1933-1945:An Oral Recollection.Its available from Mowbray Publishing tel 800-999-4697.$50 plus post.
I haven't received my copy yet so I can't report on it, but its on a topic we are interested in.

Taking the grips off several 1910's I own noticed several numbers on the back strap which seem to have nothing to do with the serial numbers..Are they inspector numbers put there during manufacture? Or what?

I just purchased a 1910 with a higher serial number than my 1910/34...is that unusual or is it just an overlap?I thought 1910's stopped in '34..Thank you..

Anyone know when the last 1910 was manufactured? Any guess on the approximate serial number? Was there an overlap with the 1934? Thank you in advance.

You know alot about these 1910's and I'm just a neophyte but taking these pistols apaart is fascinating to me.I'd like to know what the numbers are under the grips on the frame.Seem to have nothing to do with the serial number,and are often different fonts, are they inspector marks? Thank you..

I am new to collecting these 1910s.I do have several with the diamond on the rear frame and didn't find out until recently they are Port contract.
Most have a letter on the right trigger guard.What does it mean? Are all Port stamped with a letter?
