All, I’m looking at a C96 “Red 9”..... except the serial number (712389) doesn’t seem to fall within the “Red 9” block.  I’m not sure the front sight is correct for a “Red 9” either.  Is this in fact a “Red 9”, a late 1930’s C 96 that was refinished and “Red 9” grips attached?

What is the approximate value range?

Thank you, JGW

Model HSC Pistol / Nazi Police Eagle / L ?
« on: April 17, 2021, 10:47:34 PM »
All, I’m looking at an HSc described as being issue to the Nazi police, with the pistol bearing an Eagle / L.

What / which “Nazi Police” is being referenced?
Would this be German national police?
What is  the actual name of the “Nazi police”?

Thank you,

JGW

Mauser P38 Pistol / Re: 1961 P.38 Almost New In Box

Good grief.  Yes, it’s a Walther and I’m an idiot!

I bought a handful of pistols from an estate, and as I’ve tried to learn more about them I have joined and posted on various forums.  Why I posted a a Walther here .... who knows!

All - I have a September, 1962 P.38 which is all but new in box.  On the right side there are two small mars in the finish.  Very light “Interarms” import mark on right side.  Cleaning tool, test target (Jan 8, 1962), and owners manual in original box.

Question 1 - Is there anything particularly interesting about this pistol?

Question 2 - I thought post-war P.38s were labeled P.1, P.2, etc.  Clearly I was wrong.  When did the P.1 label begin?

Question 3 - What dollar value range would you expect?

Thank you,

JGW
