« Last post by 058.3 on December 26, 2023, 10:29:45 PM »Hi, I was noticing the lack of recent posts on the site. Does anyone use it? I am a Moderator on the Cadillac & LaSalle Club's Forum which uses the same format, so I am quite familiar with how to navigate your site.
I've tiptoed back into the gun collecting hobby in a small way. Back when I was really into it, I used another Mauser site which may have been this one in a new format.
In any case, I'll keep checking on my post to see if anyone has any comments on my problem. Keep up the good work, it's a wonderful site and very, very well thought out.

Model 1910 Pistol / Cased 1910
« Last post by 058.3 on December 24, 2023, 02:17:51 PM »I wonder if any of the Forum readers have come across a 1910 6.35 M/M Mauser that I picked up in the 1960s in the Indianapolis area. It had a nice black case and evidently was a presentation model. The metal was not engraved, but the grips had either ivory or pearl inlays. I think the velvet was green and the back hinge was becoming loose on one end.
I didn't pay all that much for it back then, and I believe made a small profit on it at a gun show. I kind of wish I'd kept it, but I had rotating hobbies and growing children. So, food and shoes were priorities at times, so some things had to go. (Guns, model trains, and old cars...)

Model 1914 Pistol / KKK magazine won't fit in 1914
« Last post by 058.3 on December 24, 2023, 02:05:39 PM »I purchased a replacement magazine for my 7.65 M/M Mauser. It is too "thick." I have filed down the sides of the mag, and smoothed any "bumps" on the inside of the frame. There is no rust, the grips fit well. I've had at least four of these pistols in both 1910, 1914, and 1934 models.
This one is a Fourth Variant and while the surface was pitted, the bore, frame, and small parts are all in excellent condition.
My first one was purchased from the Army Rod and Gun Club in Berlin in 1962. They had obtained a pile of pistols and a few rifles from the West Berlin Police that had sat in the weather behind the police station since the end of War II. Being exposed to the weather, one side was usually fairly nice and the other rusted and pitted. They gave each club member a ticket so as to give them order in selecting their choice.
I was not a member and so had to wait till 4 PM that Saturday to join. The enclosed picture shows the ones I purchased. I wore my thumb out that winter filing and using emery cloth on the P-38 at upper left. I shot all of them except the Spanish copy of the S&W M&P. The LT. in line ahead of me had a Luger that had been buried and you could tell what it was only from the shape. I think they charged him a quarter for it. Probably the cheapest Luger ever. Excepting the PPK and the 1914, I think I paid $12 for the rest of them. After looking at the picture again, it's possible that it was a 1910, as I know that I've had one with the little lever on the side plate and this one may have been it.
I have another magazine on order from Bob's to see if I can figure out what is wrong. I can force the mag into the frame about 1" shy of seating. Any further and I have to tap it in (and ultimately out).
The only possible thing I have noticed is that the magazine spring (#13 on the exploded view) is very, very stiff.
Please pardon the shot of me and my (now grown) children.

Model HSC Pistol / Assistance with date of manufacture of "commemorative" Mauser HSC380ACP

No decent photos yet, but the auction gave the description as "One of 5000 produced, hence serial number 0789/5000. One of a run of commemorative models. Good original condition." So according to the production chart, the serial number 0789/5000 belongs to American Eagle produced in 1977. Was there any other "commemorative" models made or is the "American Eagle" series the commemorative model series. Or maybe there is no HSC commemorative model ? By the way, the serial no - 789 is quite well chosen. I will post better pics as soon as I get from the dealer.

If at me, I was wondering if this might be contributing to my feeding issues. I'm not sure the procedure to get the catch to the correct location other than having it seat in the frame (which mine is).
