KAR 98K Rifle / some of my K98ks
« on: May 14, 2013, 03:59:34 AM »
Here are a few of my K98k rifles.
These are all of the variants of the Borsigwalde S/243, 243 u. ar marked rifles and all but 1 of the Erma S/27, 27 u. ax marked 98ks.  I still need an S/27G.
I've also got a few Oberndorff - byf 44 u. 45 and SVW 45 u. MB marked -rifles, don't have a group photo of them, but here is the byf 45 u. SVW 45 rifles.

Model 80SA / 90DA Pistol / Re: Model 80.SA and 90.DA side by side
« on: May 14, 2013, 03:22:01 AM »
I got 2 of the 80SAs from SOG, 1 for me and 1 for a friend.  We both still have them and both are unfired.
Being a Browning HP fan, I bought mine as a novelty - a Browning HP with a Mauser Banner on it.

Mauser Lugers / Re: Mauser Banner / Military mix
« on: May 14, 2013, 02:44:55 AM »
Commercial made/marked variants of military small arms of almost all variety were more or less common durring the war.
Some were made through out the war and some were discontinued by mid war.
While maby not common the Mauser Banner Lugers are not real hard to find.
Some are rather rare such as the K98k rifles and many like the HSc, PP u. PPK pistols were very common.
And some like the P.38 had their own catagory for commercial made, in this case the Mod P.38.

Mauser P38 Pistol / Re: Mauser P38, byf 43 police version
« on: May 14, 2013, 01:59:52 AM »
I have a lot of P.38s, but I don't think I have a polizei proofed one.  Never went looking for them and when I found one they were more $$ than I wanted to pay.
Probably should have put one in the collection as I have other polizei proofed pistols, but ---
British proofs to me are no different than the importers marks on guns here in the US.  They only show that the gun came into the country after a certain time.  Unless the billboard dot matrix type marks, done by a couple of idiot importers, they would not keep me from buying a gun that I needed in my collection!

Neat as Hell!!!
I've collected P.38s for 58 yrs and have never heard of this marking/use variant.
Where did you stumble onto this?
