Model HSC Pistol / Black Plastic Grips

Question for Warbird:  Were any WW2 HSc pistols made with original black plastic grips?  Occasionally I will see one for sale with such grips and I never know if they are original or replacement grips.  Thanks

Model HSC Pistol / HSc on Gunbroker

Question for Warbird:  There is an HSc on Gunbroker that I have some doubts about.  The auction number is 556558271.  The front right of this pistols' slide is engraved with an SA unit identification.  This does not look quite right to me and I have doubts about its origin.  Could you look at this auction and give me your opinions on it?  Legit or not legit?  Thanks.  Other opinions are also welcome.

Holster Forum / Mauser 1934 Holster
« on: April 25, 2016, 04:54:04 PM »
I have for sale a very nice black holster for the 1934 Mauser.  Marked inside the flap:  Schambach/1941/Berlin/ and the Police Eagle.  Some wear to the closing strap but not bad at all.  Very nice leather, no  loose or missing threads.  Overall a very nice holster.  I am selling this for a friend who is another collector living nearby who found a later date holster to go with his pistol.  Price is $175 shipped.  If interested, pls email me directly at:  707@netnet.net. Thanks.  Herman

Warbird:  I just received in the mail today my new copy of your book on the HSc pistol. What a great piece to have in my gun library.  Really great reference work.  N ow I will be able to better research the 7 HSc's that I have in my collection.  On behalf of all HSc collectors, thanks for what you did.

Warbird:  I have tried 4 times to send photos but they all came back as "undeliverable."  Do I have the correct address?

Model HSC Pistol / HSc E/L finish
« on: March 29, 2016, 06:26:49 PM »

For Warbird:Question about the finish on an early E/L HSc:
I have an opportunity to buy an early HSc with E/L acceptance.  The serial number is in the 711k range.
The finish on this pistol is VERY shiny and seemingly thin. It almost looks refinished, and I think it  might be but am not completely sure.  The finish is  not at all like the deep lustre blue/black finishes I am used to seeing on HSc pistols.
The seller is trying to tell me that this finish was the way Mauser did  the relatively early HSc pistols, including this one in the 711k serial range.  He also says Jan Still confirms this in his Axis Pistol book.  I no longer have this book so am unable to check Still's information and data
Was there ever such a thin, real shiny finish placed on the police Mausers relatively early in production or am I correct in saying that there is a problem with this gun's finish?
I have the gun in my possession and could send you photos of it but am unable to figure out how to post them here.  I wish I could so other forum users could chime in as well.  If you can give me an e-mail address, I would be able to send the photos to you.
Thanks for any help you could provide.
Herman

Just curious, but does this low serial number make this pistol a Low  Grip Screw model?

In looking thru this website, I find that some members are listed as "Hero Members."  Iam not sure what this means.  Can someone please enlighten me as to the meaning of this term?  Thanks
