I agree with Burgess that most likely the safety was engaged which locks the slide.

Model 1914 Pistol / Non proofed Mauser 1914 barrels
« on: February 26, 2018, 07:28:09 PM »
There is currently on eBay a seller with 2 Mauser 1914 7.65mm barrels that look like they are lacking the crown nitro proofs that are typically on the front post. Also they do not have any numbers on the opposite side of the post where they typically would be. Instead they have on the underside of the Barrel a letter and a 3 digit number. One is I believe c404 the other is c467. Anyone see this before? I had one some years ago on a pistol and I never did get any good info as to why it was marked in that fashion.

If Burgess Doesn't have one that will work I will look through my spare parts. I might have one.

Looks like a very nice eagle F HSC. I own one that's less than 200 numbers away from yours. Although it's not quite as nice.

Thank you both for the information. It's kind of cool to know that the workers got paid based off what they produced. However I am sure it was probably a little nerve wracking watching your work get inspected knowing that your income was on the line.

Model HSC Pistol / Re: HSc with no serial number.

I am sorry I can't really help you other than to say yes it is really odd. If I was guessing I would say it was assembeld out of parts at the factory after the war but possibily out of expermental parts? Or at least the slide.
Hopefully other more knowledgeable people will chime in with some info.

Yes pictures would help greatly. Also have you stripped it to check to make sure all serial numbers match?

https://www.gunbroker.com/item/725393160 do you think this is a legit stock? Seems like a lot of money for a stock. I haven't seen in person one of those pistols much less a stock for one so just trying to learn something new.
Seems for 5k one could make there own with some help from a machinist to make the attaching hardware

Found the Info I was looking for.

Model 1914 Pistol / Re: oddball 1914?
« on: December 13, 2017, 08:47:34 PM »
If it was me I would keep it. Regular 1914s that are ww-1 era
In decent shape seem to be bringing $350-450. I don't know the market on long barreled pistols.
Another option could be you just pick up a extra short barrel if you want to have that as a option to shoot with.

Model 1914 Pistol / Re: Loaded chamber safe for carry?
« on: November 25, 2017, 07:05:01 PM »
I personally would not carry a loaded cocked 1914 Mauser Pistol if I had newer viable options at my disposal. But if that's what I had to carry I would carry the 1914 cocked with the safety on.
