Title: HSc Mag base
Post by: jcorl on April 17, 2015, 10:19:34 AM
I bought an early HSc gun not long ago and was cleaning it's magazine inside and out. I noticed that the floorplate had been machined.  I will take a photo latter and post it, if anyone is interested.  I was interested in learning if a machined floorplate is the common method of production for early production HSc examples.

Larger photo of the mag floorplate inside from a 1940 production date gun.  It looks like it has a punch press mark with milling machine circles.  The two vertical indentations, I can only guess.  My machinist training dates back a ton of years during a summer in high school.  All I remember of that summer was a 4" drill press chuck about took off my hand.   Please enjoy the photos.
