C96 / C12 Broomhandle / C96 Magazine Floor Plate
« Last post by Djlmedic on March 10, 2024, 08:06:11 PM »
Good evening everyone,
I have a C96 Mauser that needs a magazine floor plate. I ordered one but it is not the correct one. The one of the left of the picture is the old one that is wider at the point that it locks into the magazine well. Can anyone advise why mine is not like others that I’ve seen?

C96 / C12 Broomhandle / Re: Resleeving/relining C96 barrel

Thanks for the lead. I've also recently found another gunsmith shop both capable and willing to take the job. It was formerly owned & operated by the late Bob Dunlap of the American Gunsmith Institute videos. Pisco, AKA, Pacific International Service Company. I'm not quite ready yet, but when I am, I'll likely use them, $200-250 (+tax & shipping), with a 2-3 month turnaround.

Thanks, Karl, 68coupe

Howdy 68coupe,

not sure if you are still in search of someone to rebarrel/reline your C96, but Lugerman has a range of options available.
I have not used his services personally, but the quality of his work demonstrated by his .45 & 10mm Luger reproductions are imo second to none!

Best of luck!

C96 / C12 Broomhandle / Proof Marks Guide/ Help Identify
« Last post by Foxhound1331 on March 09, 2024, 11:10:42 PM »
Hello everyone, this is my first post! :)

I need some help identifying/deducing some provenance through proof-marks on what I believe is a Pre-War commercial Mauser C96.
I have attached photos below.

1.) "Germany" (import marked? if so by whom and or where?)
2.) Proof mark under barrel
3.) #8 in the underside interior of the upper

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Cheers!

General Mauser Pistol Questions / Re: Unit markings C96 Prewar Commercial?

It could be an Imperial unit marking. You might want to post on Still's Luger forum. Regards.

This was the only separately numbered end-of-contract range done for Interarms.

Some American Eagle marked overrun slides made it into german commercial production, numbered as regular HSc pistols.
