Title: Mauser WTP II frame markings
Post by: Investment Janitor on December 09, 2021, 08:15:11 PM
I'm sorry but I am new here not sure if the photo attached.

There is a marking on the bottom rear of the frame behind the magazine with the letter F, and another on the other side with the letter F and what looks like an E stamped over it, i have also seen some photos where numbers were present, including one with the number 5. Does anyone know why these markings are there?  Thanks! Best, Rob

Rob, These are most likely machinist or inspector markings that were done at the factory. Similar markings on HSCs were determined to indicate the machine or station that the frame was produced at. Regards,
