Title: Other Slide markings on WWII HSc

I have a WWII matching numbers HSc.  I am curious of regarding the other markings on the Slide  Photos attached:


Any input appreciated.

Interesting.  I have not seen the Z stamp on the slide interior.

I agree with jcorl never seen a "Z" stamp. Your other picture is the last three digits of the serial number which is normal on all HSc's

I have "74" stamped in approximately the same location on the underside of my HSc slide.  I will try and post a picture this weekend to this thread.

Our best guess is that these markings inside the Slide (and sometimes at the base of the Frame by the Magazine opening) represent machining centers that fabricated the parts.  Since there were obviously many different areas that made the same parts (and not just one), tracking their output for quality purposes only made sense.
