Title: Wartime comercial with wooden stock - year of production?
Post by: gebirg on February 16, 2014, 03:24:10 PM
This rig has been together since may 1945 and no shots fired post war. This was taken from a small German officers group that was arrested, the norwegian groupleader took this rig and kept it as it was then until now.
The gun is serial 383543, all number match!

Thank you!

It is a wartime pistol (World War 1) with a Prussian military acceptance marking. So it has had an interesting life, having served in two wars and probably inbetween as well.

I Googled C96 serial numbers..for commercial wartime models. My C-96 Broom starts # with 382325
According ti that site....late 1916-early 1917 ( on the cusp...as it were)
Your  Broom. is most likely 1917 according to my finds.
